Behaviour and anti-bullying

We strive to create an environment in which children feel safe, secure and respected.

Behaviour

We want Ark Acton Academy to be enjoyable for every pupil. Pupils should be able to learn, make friends and be enthusiastic about their day. We are a team - and like all teams, we have rules so we clearly know and understand the expectations of us and can live up to them, confidently.

  • We recognise good behaviour with praise and great behaviour with with merits.
  • We impose consistent, clear and unavoidable sanctions for unacceptable behaviour.
  • We train our pupils in our expectations through induction each term, and form time each week, so that they know exactly how to have a good day at school and be a great member of our community.

  • Behaviour Policy (2.16 MB)

Anti-bullying

We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying. We adopt the attitude that ‘it does happen here’ and as such we have developed clear systems to enable any student or parent to report an issue or concern to us at any time. Our Heads of Year and pastoral team ensure that every student is known to an adult and that we can intervene swiftly where required.

If you are concerned that your child could be experiencing bullying, please let us know as soon as you can and we will work together to resolve the situation.
